From Palafrugell, you go to the neighbouring village of Mont-ras, from where you go down to the Aubi plain, an area far from the great communication roads, which still preserves its rural identity. Many of the scattered farmhouses that make up the areas of Ermedās and Santa Margarida were fortified to defend themselves from the continuous attacks of the pirates that destroyed the Catalan coasts between the 15th and 17th centuries. Today you can go to the coast without any danger and you can visit the marine centres of Calella and Llafranc and return, riding up a gentle slope, to the departure point.
